At ShawCoach we aim to do more than just plan your day to day training sessions.
As well as targeting maximum fitness improvements, we take an all round approach to coaching by considering as many aspects of cycling as we can, to help you go faster.
ShawCoach also offers cyclists of all levels plenty of individual support & friendly advice to keep training on track by utilising experience gained from Multiple National Time Trial Champion, long time elite racer & coach Julia Shaw.
Prior to becoming a coach I won over 30 National Championships and many more National medals over the last 20 years.
In addition I have raced internationally including medal success in the Commonwealth Games and competed for Great Britain at Elite level in the UCI World TT Championships.
I'm also proud to have held the following competition records with the fastest womens time ever ridden in the UK for 10miles (19:47), 25miles (50:01), 50miles (1:46:46), and 100miles (3:45:22)
So when it comes to Time Trials, I feel well placed to pass on the knowledge and experience I have gained, through both racing and training, to help others achieve their goals.
During my cycling career I’ve also been fortunate to work with some of the best sports physiologists, aerodynamic specialists and nutritionists in the country, enabling me to use some of this expertise in my role as a coach.
I also have a science degree and use a scientific approach to training, this has helped me achieve success and enables me to use the same approach with the coaching of others. I also have extensive experience training, racing and coaching athletes with power meters
As a coach, now my target is to get the best out of each and every rider by understanding where the greatest gains in speed will come from, then putting together a plan to enable this to happen.
