I am a native of New York City, and have been residing in Richmond, Va. since 1984 with my wife of 30+ years and 2 daughters. I have been a competitive athlete for over 40 years. I started as a runner at a young age, and in college started competing in triathlons and mass-start bike races. My passion for cycling was fueled by the lasting friendships gained while cycling, as well as the successes attained. For 10 years, from the mid ’80 to mid’90s, I raced as a Cat 2. One of the highlights of my racing career was a 4th place finish in the Vuelta de Dominican Republic. I left full-time competitive cycling for the birth of my first daughter and to start a career.Teaching, coaching and mentoring have always been part of my ideals. Giving back to a sport that has been such large part of my life is important to me. Whether a Junior or Master, novice or elite, the most satisfying part of coaching for me is being able to be part of your success.
I offer training plans based on your needs. These plans range from pre-packaged plans developed for a goal event to weekly individualized programs that are a collaborative effort we compile together. If you are a local athlete and desire one-on-one training sessions I can work with you on such things as bike handling skills and techniques. Fees are based on the level of contact we decide which suits you and your needs the best.
