Coach Bio

I am a former Collegiate distance runner and current Top Age Group triathlete competing in triathlons of distances from sprints to Full Ironman. I have over 10 years of coaching experience with people ages 6 and up and ability levels of beginners to World Qualifiers. I enjoy introducing folks to the sports of running, biking and/or swimming. I also enjoy helping athletes set, train for, and achieve their personal goals.

Certifications: USA Track and Field: Level 2 Endurance, USA Triathlon: Level 1 for Adults and Youth/Juniors, and NASM Personal Training.
Coaching Experience: I am currently the UNC Triathlon Club Coach. In the past I have coached HS XC (6 years), HS Track and Field (8 years), HS Swimming (2 years) HS Triathlon (1 year), Youth Triathlon Team (3 years), Adult Triathlon Groups (2 years).
My Philosophy: Work alongside my athletes to: 1. set and achieve their personal goals 2. train wisely to meet those goals. 3. stay active for their lifetime.
About me as an athlete: HS: State Champion in the 800 and1600 and All-State honors in Cross Country. College: University of South Carolina XC and TF: member of the Indoor 4x800 school record holding team. Adult: 7x Full Distance Ironman, 2016 Qualifier for Kona, 2021 Qualifier for St. George. 2016 Ironman 70.3 World participant, USAT 2015 Team USA World Qualifier for Olympic and Long (70.3) distances, USAT AG All American (7 years)
