Sarah is an accomplished athlete with both national and world titles in field and individual sports. Having enjoyed many years of competing at the elite level, Sarah now spends her time coaching short and long-distance triathletes and runners, and building strength programs for all levels of athletes. Sarah has earned her CSCS, USAT and USATF certifications.
Sarah served as the Assistant to both the Strength and Conditioning and the Women’s Soccer coaches at Bowdoin College in Maine before becoming a full time endurance coach with The Sustainable Athlete.
Sarah’s work is focused on building speed, power and resistance-to-fatigue for the endurance athlete. Her programs integrate strength with endurance, applying a progressive strength program founded on mobility and stability to a periodized training plan based on TSS, IF, CTL and good old-fashioned RPE and athlete communication.
“Endurance” is relative. Sarah meets the athlete where they are in their fitness regarding duration and intensity and focuses on realistic goals for each individual. For the athlete that needs to be held back from overdoing, Sarah will keep them in check. For the athlete that needs to be pushed, Sarah will provide the motivation and accountability necessary.
And for some neither here nor there: Sarah has an MBA, is fluent in Spanish, lived in 4 different countries, has 4 kids, hates to cook but loves to bake and lives on a farm in Maine.
