USATF, USAT, CSCS. I came to endurance coaching from a long and successful athletic career and believe in the power of sport to bring challenge and meaning to one’s life. Success requires finding the comfort in the uncomfortable. I walk my athletes toward this threshold through fine-tuned attention to the ratio of intensity, volume & recovery. I coach world championship qualifiers to first-time competitors and anyone in between who is looking to use training as a vehicle for growth and reward.
My goal is to continue to challenge myself and my athletes while growing as a strong but humble coach. I feel fortunate to work with an amazing group of very busy people who are making time to do incredible things. My job is to provide the roadmap for their success, but it is they who inspire me daily.
I continuously seek best practices from all types of sport that I can adapt to triathletes and runners. I am a firm believer in incorporating progressive strength movement into any endurance plan to support the stresses of training. When not immersed in 1:1 coaching I might be leading our local triathlon group, teaching a strength clinic, analyzing a run gait, baking cookies or romping on our farm in Maine with my 4 kids.
My athletic background: I have earned both National and World titles in soccer, ultimate frisbee and triathlon. In my years as a triathlete I've qualified for world championships at each distance, consistently placed in the top 2% for every race and landed on the podium for all 3 of my 70.3 World Championship pursuits. I continue to compete as a recreational elite in local running races, which always helps me stay in touch with what my athletes are feeling on race day!
