I am a USA Track & Field Level 2 certified coach (endurance events) providing individual coaching to runners through workout design, training plans, performance monitoring, and strength training advice. I am the head cross country and track & field coach at Wakefield HS in Arlington, VA.
I design custom, individualized programs to help you meet your goals and get the most from your training. Let me help you get fitter, faster, and injury-free. All experience levels welcome.
I have competed in events from the 100m to the marathon. I still hold several school records at Cincinnati’s renowned Moeller High School. An injury ended my competitive running career at the University of South Carolina with personal bests of 1:54 for 800m and 15:57 for 5K. I have won races or taken age group honors on the track, road, grass, and dirt. I coach to share my knowledge and passion for running to help others improve and find their best running selves.
My coaching philosophy emphasizes overall athleticism, proper running technique, and goal-oriented training. I want you to enjoy the thrill of competition and the sense of accomplishment that makes our sport so great. I work with new and experienced runners focusing on track events above 400m and road racing up to the marathon. I hold a Level 2 coaching certification in endurance events from the USATF and first aid/CPR/AED certifications from the American Red Cross. I coach high school track & field and cross country and am a member of the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. I take the guesswork out of training and free up your time to focus on workouts and recovery that will yield results and keep you motivated to improve.
I have worked with competitive and recreational athletes of all abilities, from middle school athletes, NCAA runners, and masters athletes.
