I have over 20 years of experience as an endurance athlete and coach. I am currently the Head Swim Coach of the University of Mary, and I swam at the University of Iowa.
My wife and I launched EFAST in 2013 and since then we have coached hundreds of athletes from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers.
I am currently the head coach for swimming and diving at the University of Mary located in Bismarck, ND. Prior to this position, I was an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico, and head coach of Reno Aquatic Club in Reno, NV.
My wife, Lauren, and I have owned EFAST for over a decade, and I have coached hundreds of endurance athletes from beginners to an USA Olympic Trials qualifier.
Although I have coached several elite athletes, one of my proudest accomplishments is helping an athlete successfully complete an Ironman swim when he couldn't even complete a 25-yard non-stop swim four months prior.
Swim coaching is my specialty, but I have successfully coached competitive Ironman triathletes, ultra runners, and Boston Marathon qualifiers.
Athletically, I earned a swimming scholarship at the University of Iowa where I specialized in distance freestyle. Post-collegiately, I have competed in two Ironmans (the inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe and the 2021 Ironman World Championships in St. George). I have also done numerous other running, cycling, and triathlon events.
My wife, Lauren, and I have three kids (Alta - 8, Michael - 5, and Andrew - 2). We currently live in Bismarck, North Dakota.
