I'm Cameron Archer, founder and head coach of Run Theory in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. I coach runners and triathletes at every level, from first-timers chasing a 5k to athletes targeting a marathon or Ironman. My focus is structured, threshold-based training that fits around real life and builds you into a stronger, more durable athlete. Whether you want a self-serve plan or fully guided coaching, everything is built around steady, measurable progress.
I've spent more than 15 years in endurance sport, and I coach the way I train: with structure, patience, and a plan behind every session.
I hold Athletics Australia Advanced Run Level 2 accreditation, the top recognised coaching credential in the sport in Australia. Everything I write is built on that foundation, not guesswork.
As an athlete I've raced a sub-10 hour Ironman (9:54), qualified for the 70.3 World Championship, and run a 3:30 marathon off the bike on my Ironman debut. That experience shapes how I coach, but it never replaces qualifications.
My coaching is threshold-based. Sessions are prescribed as a percentage of your current fitness, so the work is always pitched right for you and progresses as you get stronger. No junk miles, no one-size-fits-all plans, just a clear reason behind every rep.
I coach runners and triathletes through Run Theory, from complete beginners to athletes chasing big personal goals. Online coaching is delivered through TrainingPeaks, with running and triathlon options to suit where you're at.
