England Athletics qualifications: CiRF & Event Group Endurance.
UESCA qualifications: Running Coach, Ultrarunning Coach, Endurance Strength & Conditioning Coach
Experience: Runner for 12 years (all distances from 5km up to 150 mile ultra), club coaching for 5 years (youth & adult)
Currently active coaching at a running club for adult and youth from ages 8 and up, with multiple 121 clients.
I have been running ultra events for around 14 years now and have come to understand some of the key philsophies that support long term athlete development and success. I'm well versed in not just getting the athlete over the line, but getting the best out of them to get them over the line feeling strong and confident.They key to this is effectively optimising the athletes time/workouts to make sure that they are getting quality training whilst still getting enough recovery and having time to do those things that absorb an athletes time, like family and work.
I am a huge fan of year-round strength training and have recently started another course for Strength & Conditioning for Endurance Atheletes to make sure that I can prescribe the optimal strength training workouts at the right time. I never stop learning and challenging myself to be better and learn more, because you can NEVER know enough!
I like to think of my coaching as a partnership where we work together through good communication to achieve the goals that we have set the reticule on.
