I've been running since I was 13 years old, and have been a competitive athlete since the age of 3 (Yeah we started me early ;-) ). I've competed in sports ranging from horseback riding, competitive swimming, to dance. However, running was the one sport that stole my heart! Running frees my mind and soul, you can just grab your shoes and run anywhere! Through many ups and downs in my life, running was the one place for me to let go, meditate (aka release my emotions), and grow as a person. I believe running is more than just getting fast times, it’s about connecting to something deeper in yourself; I believe that running saved my life in many ways. Through High School and College all I thought about was being the best and getting fast, since then I have changed my way of thinking, and believe that you should train like you want to run until your 100. With that mindset, I have been able to run faster, be less stressed, and enjoy my runs even more now than I did before! But I do try to better myself, and still get fast times! Just don't allow it to consume me anymore! :-)
