You ever wondered how Kenyan athletes train? What's about the fact that they take and hold a lot of records? Why are they so dominant? Is it training, nutrition, or altitude?
Many researches have been done to solve the mystery, but in the end it is the consistent training that gives you the best result. Ready for pure training heritage? No fancy GPS, power and crazy metrics, let's try "The Keyan Way" of training. Here is your chance. Right from Eldoret (Kenya) where all the action happens.
I have been involved in the sport of athletics for almost my entire life, in different capacities from being a long distance runner in one of the biggest athletic camps in Kenya, to being a sports journalist, and now as a certified coach.
I started my coaching career by coaching my wife who could hardly jog for 100m when we started in late 2016. She comfortably progressed from alternating jogging and walking, to running a continuous 30 minutes non-stop, to racing a 10K race in 36 minutes, and on to finishing in the top 5 in one of the biggest races in Kenya; the Nairobi Marathon 10K event. And, I kept the notes.
I have also learned a lot from working with so many other runners since then, and by taking coaching courses that earned me certification.
