I am a runner and coach based in North Manchester. My journey as a runner started in my early 40s when a friend persuaded me to give parkrun a go. Over the first couple of years, my natural desire to push myself saw me progress from struggling round parkrun to a 50 mile ultramarathon, as well as races of all types in between.
In the following years I have gone on to complete numerous ultras: In 2022 these included the tough 2022 Cheviot Goat and the 200 mile Mid Wales 200, which I finished as 3rd lady. I am currently training for the iconic Lakeland 100 in July 2023.
On the other end of the scale, parkrun remains close to my heart and most weekends find me participating as either a runner or a volunteer. Watching new runners progress over the weeks is a real joy and inspiration. I am also an active running club member as both a runner and coach.
Coaching shouldn’t be the sole domain of the elite athlete: I am passionate about supporting runners to break through their perceived limits. Everyone is capable of achieving more than they think possible with the right training, structure, guidance and encouragement, and this is what I aim to give to every runner that I coach.
I am a qualified running coach through England Athletics, I have a current valid DBS certificate and First Aid training. I am in the process of completing a CIMSPA accredited Level 4 Strength and Conditioning coaching qualification.
