As a coach, I strive to develop well-rounded athletes using a structured, scientific approach. My programs are highly individualized, taking into account your training history, fiber type (slow vs. fast), and incorporating injury-prevention exercises to ensure you meet your goals. I work with athletes of all ability levels to help them achieve their goals. Don't hesitate to reach out for a free training consultation.
I have been running competitively for 18 years. Initially, I ran local 5k and 10k races and fell in love with the sport. Since then, I have competed at the high school and NCAA Division I levels as well as running Half and Full marathons post-collegiately. My personal bests range from 1:51.9 in the 800m to 1:10:34 in the Half Marathon with a wide-range of training experiences. More recently, I ran the 2019 Boston Marathon in 2:50.
I have experience in speed and technique development, strength training, training with power, and injury prevention techniques. I believe that there is not a "one-size-fits-all" training approach and will seek to determine your specific strengths and tailor your training as such.
As we develop different aspects of training (e.g., Lactate Threshold), we will continue to touch on these every 10-14 days, ensuring long-term, stable gains in fitness. As we identify target races, I will modify your training to emphasize the most important types of training while de-emphasizing the least important types. However, and this is key, we will never completely stop performing any training type. This will ensure you continue to gain fitness year-after-year and keep training fun!
