Royce is a top level British Cycling coach. "I help riders achieve their objectives through analysing the demands of their target events, identifying their limiters, and building a comprehensive approach to training, including weekly training plans, nutrition, off-the-bike strength & conditioning, bike handling and mental skills."
Royce started coaching to "put something back into the sport and repay those who helped me as a young athlete". So, in addition to coaching individual clients, he coaches young racers and time triallists at British Cycling's largest youth cycling club, Hillingdon Slipstreams. He also coaches with British Cycling's Talent Development Centre and Women's Coach to Racing
Royce’s education is in science and engineering with a Bachelors of Science degree from Purdue University (in the USA). He then went on to earn an MBA at Harvard University.
Royce’s own cycling achievements include cycling 4,470 miles across the USA, mountain biking across Switzerland, the Etape du Tour, and cycling to Istanbul. In 2020, Royce "Everested", climbing 9,000 metres over 205 miles in 21 hours. The profile photo is from the Fred Whitton Challenge in the Lake District.
