I am a professional triathlon coach - www.oxygenaddict.com is my full time job. I specialise in coaching Age Group athletes who are serious about improving their performance - aspiring Kona and 70.3 WC qualifiers, and age group GB representatives.
I have coached over three hundred triathletes to successfully reach their goals - from professionals to those completing their first triathlon, through multiple Team GB AG qualifications, to multiple Kona and 70.3 WC qualifiers, to one World Champion.
My name is Rob Wilby and I have over 20 years of experience coaching individuals and groups, from novices to international standard athletes. I was a member of the first UK graduating class of triathlon coaches from TrainingPeaks University.
I have a BSc. (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science and Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Masters level teaching qualification), so my training programs are underpinned by a thorough understanding of exercise physiology. I am coach-certified by British Triathlon, Ironman University, UK Athletics, and the Amateur Swimming Association, and am also a Coach Education Tutor for British Triathlon, passing on my coaching knowledge to the next generation of coaches. I was Head Coach at Knutsford Tri Club for ten years, and was voted 220 Triathlon Magazine Coach of the Year in 2019.
As an athlete, I represented Great Britain at the ITU World Championships, and qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. I have completed six Ironman triathlons and over twenty 70.3's, in addition to dozens of other triathlons, frequently on the AG podium and often with the fastest run split. Helping triathletes unlock their run performance is one of my passions!
Each week I host the OxygenAddict Triathlon Podcast, offering AG athletes coaching advice and interviewing top triathletes, coaches and other triathlon industry professionals to see what we can learn to help make you faster. Tune in at www.oxygenaddict.com/podcast
