Former Data Scientist for TeamSky and Director of Sports Science for Garmin-Sharp. I still have a passion for coaching, data analysis, and position optimization for all cyclists, runners, and triathletes. Recently, I have helped Nike break the World Marathon Record by over 2.5min (Nike Breaking2).

Bio

Robby has worked at the forefront of technology and data science for a decade. He was the Chief Data Scientist for Team Sky, helping the team win three Tour de France titles. Recently, he was one of three Scientists who Nike hired to break the World Marathon Record by over 2.5min (Nike Breaking2). Robby continues to work one-on-one with athletes, including Jeremy Powers (4x US National Cyclocross Champion).

Robby served as the Director of Sports Science for Garmin-Sharp Pro Cycling, where he was known as the team’s 'secret weapon' for the number of innovations he brought to the sport. Among his many technological achievements, he is the creator of the fastest speed suit in the world, the BAT Box (the world’s first on-board measuring device to replace a wind tunnel), and Platypus (cycling’s first big data analytics tool). Robby still develops technology for a number professional sports including the NFL, NBA, triathlon, and professional cycling.

Robby speaks frequently at conferences, and he has been featured in international media outlets including: Wall Street Journal , New York Times, CyclingWeekly, Bicycling Magazine, Bike Radar, The Innovation Enterprise, VeloNews, Triathlete Magazine, Bon Appetit, Financial Times, ESPN.com, The Guardian, NBC Sports Network, NBC Universal, CyclingNews, and Global Cycling Network.

Robby runs ultramarathons for fun, and is actively involved in the endurance community. He recently finished his first 100-miler (2017 Leadville 100 Run).
