With over 10 years experience coaching Endurance athletes of all levels, as well as coaching on Triathlon and Cycling Training camps, Corporate Seminars and Training days, I have always been fascinated by the puzzle of how to get the very best out of oneself in terms of the right training and approach to racing and now I take great satisfaction and enjoyment in being able to impart all that knowledge and experience I’ve gained over so many years onto others and help them achieve their own goals.
With over 15 years experience competing in Endurance events of all types and distances, along with multiple Triathlon Age-Group and Overall wins, I also won British Age-Group Champion Titles at Sprint, Olympic and Half-Ironman, before going 9:06 at my first Iron Distance race. In my 2nd IM race I went 8:39 at IM Copenhagen, the 2nd fastest AG time in the world that year, coming 9th overall. I then raced LD professionally for 5 years all over the world, gaining 8 top 10 finishes at Ironman and Challenge events, including coming 5th at Ironman Nice, 7th at Ironman Kentucky and 7th at Ironman UK 70.3. I am now cycling and running, having just run 2:23:10 at London Marathon, winning the M40-44 cat and winning my first two ultra Trail events setting course records in both. I have a thirst for learning more about the Science behind Physiological fitness and Training principles. Having coached myself from a beginner to pro-level around a full time job, I have the knowledge and experience to know how to maximise performance around a busy, hectic schedule by implementing the optimal training methods for the individual. Now I thrive in passing on this knowledge to my athletes. My philosophy of training is based around specificity, the principles of training remain constant, but applying them differs in it’s physiological demands based on an individuals strengths and weaknesses and how best to deal with athletes on a personal level so they respond optimally to their training stimulus.
