Coach Riley Carpenter grew up in Colorado, where he quickly fell in love with the outdoors, hiking, and being fit. He developed a passion for fitness and exercise as a way to feel good and relieve stress. Riley has been in sports for his whole life, including hockey for eight years, then ultimate frisbee for four years. Riley got into triathlon because he loved running and cycling in the Colorado mountains, but wanted a competition to train for and get fit. After several years of age group podiums, he decided he wanted to push himself to the next level and race professionally.

Riley got into bicycle retail because he was eager to learn how to work on bicycles and be around other like-minded people. Over the course of nearly seven years in the industry, Riley has honed his skills in bicycle fitting and mechanical work. He really enjoys helping other athletes with their cycling questions about equipment, bike fit, and training. He dreams of riding his bike up the biggest mountain passes in France, Italy, and Spain.

Riley wants to work with any athlete that wants to improve, which includes elite age groupers and complete beginners. Riley is excited to help other athletes with their athletic journeys, and find the joy in swimming, biking, and running.

When not training, Riley enjoys home roasting coffee and cooking extravagant meals. He lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife and cat.
