I am an experienced mountain athlete and ultrarunner with a passion for coaching. I hold certifications in ultrarunning and running coaching from the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy, specializing in injury prevention. While my personal race experience focuses on mountain ultramarathons, I coach runners of all levels, from 5K road races to mountain ultramarathons.
A lifelong endurance training enthusiast, I began racing mountain bikes in my teens and later tackled long mountain adventures during and after my PhD in physics. At 42, I became passionate about trail ultramarathons.
In my first year of ultrarunning (2016), I achieved top-10 finishes in various events, including trail 50-milers, 100Ks, half marathons, and marathons. I also set a couple of masters course records. The thrilling races and supportive community hooked me.
Obsessed with ultrarunning training, I delved into its differences from traditional running. This led me to understand training for all distances and terrains. At 44, I won my first race outright, the Arches Ultra 50K. I continued with notable achievements, including finishing Western States in 23 hours, placing third at Mogollon Monster 100, completing Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, and winning the High Five 100 with a course record.
Passionate about the sport and its community, I decided to help others achieve their goals. I became a certified running and ultrarunning coach, specializing in injury prevention. My expertise in data analysis as a physicist and critical analysis of exercise science research literature guide athletes toward precise and caring goal achievement.
