Our coaching services are an affordable and personalized approach to your athletic needs. Whether you are a competitive or noncompetitive athlete, our coaching can assist you in achieving your goals. Coaching includes on the bike training, as well as strength training. We also provide basic training plans for those who want to add structure to their training while considering the option of a full coaching package.
Richard Nelson is a Level 1 certified USA Cycling coach with over 30 years of coaching experience and nearly 40 years of racing experience. Mr. Nelson has built his life around cycling, and has the knowledge, experience, and talent to share that passion with those with a desire to learn. This passion for cycling and teaching are the primary reasons why he founded Faster Cyclist, LLC in 2002.
Richard Nelson began his athletic career at the age of 10 racing BMX. In high school, he ran long-distance on the track and field team. He continued racing cycling competitively throughout his early adult years, competing in BMX, road, mountain, and track events. He learned how to race from some of the best, and continued to mentor other young riders as he trained and raced all over the country. In 1989, Richard Nelson began what is now known as the ASU Collegiate Cycling Team. He became a USA Cycling coach in 2000 and also has experience as a Nordic Ski coach.
In 2012, Richard Nelson returned to the Southwest and it is here where he continues to build his passion for cycling. Whether it is in group rides or competitive events, Richard Nelson is eager to share his expertise.
