Coach Bio

As a British Cycling Level 3 Coach I like to focus on quality, understanding riders needs and aspirations and delivering performance programmes to meet individuals requirements; as such I only work with a small number of clients.
All of my Personal Coaching Plans are designed, written and conducted by myself, and are written specifically for the individual.
I have extensive knowledge of training with both HR and Power.

British Cycling Level 3 Road & Time Trial Coach.
On a personal level I have cycled for most of my life, in addition to Road Racing, TT and sportives in the UK, I continue to ride in the Alps and Pyrenees 3-4 times a year and have completed most of the major climbs, some during Geneva – Nice and the Pyrenean Raid.
It’s important to recognise that Coaching is a big commitment from both rider and coach and you’ll need to be prepared to embrace change, dedicate time, have patience and be disciplined in how you balance riding with other life commitments. However, if you are serious about improving your cycling performance having a coach can be a transformational experience.
For the past 10 years I have successfully coached/trained both Junior and Senior riders to achieve their goals and develop their cycling performance to the next level.

Personal Coaching Philosophy:-

  • Be open, honest and accountable.
  • Always hold the best interests of the rider first.
  • Invest the necessary time to evaluating client’s data to ensure training is focused.
  • Be available as and when agreed.
  • Be able to adapt my personal and coaching style to meet the needs of riders.
  • Provide factual and objective feedback.
  • Explain clearly the training methods and plans being prescribed to ensure riders understand the benefits.
  • Maintain a professional and polite approach at all times.
  • Operate within the remit of my qualifications and boundaries of my coaching insurance and within the rules of cycling.
