I consider cycling a trade, and the coaching/athlete relationship one of master and apprentice. If you want a training program you can find it on google. But, if you want to learn how to be a cyclist then I may be able to help. Of course, you will also receive a personalized training program based on scientific evidence and 100 years of evolving community wisdom.
I understand the science of training, and how to trigger adaptation.
I've been around the block, and I know how to race.
I know how to coach: from cat 4 -> Professional
I have a Masters Degree in Chemistry which affords me a deep understanding of physiology, biochemistry, enzymology, metabolism, and energy production in the human body.
I have raced as a cat 1 in Canada and the USA for 10 years. Sometimes I was good, sometimes I was average, sometimes I was not so good.
I have won multiple provincial championships for Road Racing, Criteriums and Cyclocross. I have made top 10 placements at National cyclocross, TimeTrial and Criterium Championships. There are a handful of Pro/1 races where I made top 10 or podium results, and a smaller number where I actually won.
In 5 years of coaching I have been a provincial coach, club coach, private coach, group coach and training camp coach. I most often coach Junior and U23's, but I have also worked with cyclists in their 20's and 30's. Athletes working with me have qualified for Provincial and National teams, signed professional contracts, podiumed and won at National Championships, treat everyone with respect, and in general make me very proud.
