Coach Steve is a board certified surgeon with fellowship training in treating and eliminating obesity. As a USAT certified level I triathlon coach he brings his medical knowledge to the training table which enables him to offer the most focused and efficient training methods available.
This is particularly suited for the time crunched athlete and allows them to actually reach and exceed their goals within the minimum time requirements.

As a bariatric surgeon, he possesses a unique knowledge base that has made him a national expert in the highly specialized field of coaching bariatric surgery patients to complete all distances of triathlon including full Ironman events. The bariatric surgery patient has very unique and specific needs when it comes to ultra distance events and if you have ever experienced that voice within calling you to the start line, coach Steve is one of the very few coaches who can get you to the finish line and accomplish things you have not yet even imagined possible!

As an athlete he is currently competing at the age group level with 15 full distance Ironman finishes to include the Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii. Every year he qualifies for the Age Group Nationals at the sprint and Olympic distances as well as Age Group World Championships. At the half distance Ironman he has also competed on the world stage. As a runner he has qualified for and completed the Boston Marathon for the past 5 years.
