Everything starts with having a strong aerobic engine, otherwise known as aerobic capacity. This is the building block that allows your body to efficiently use oxygen during a sustained effort. If your muscles are able to effectively utilize oxygen, you'll be able to maintain speed during a race effort (like a 5k). The plans I build are designed to help you maximize your aerobic engine!
Current owner of Northstar Endurance, I have studied the art of endurance training and built training plans to meet various endurance fitness goals for over 20 years. I have been fortunate enough to receive top level coaching from top US Olympic Developmental and College Programs (XC Running and Nordic Skiing). I have run a number of athlete training camps and currently volunteers as the head Track and Field coach for a local Middle School. I am a UESCA Certified Running Coach.
