My name is Nick and I am a multisport coach based out of Toronto and the GTA. I have been competing in triathlons for the last 6 years completing multiple half IRONMAN races including the 70.3 World Championships in 2022. I have also completed a full IRONMAN and currently training to complete another one. This coming season I will be focusing on the ITU Standard Distance World Championship as well happening in Spain at the end of September.
Coaching philosophy: I focus on athlete-centered coaching. This mean putting the athlete at the center of their training plan. Coach-centered coaching is what we see in pro sports such as the NHL and NBA. Ultimately coach-centered coaching results in the coach making decisions what will benefit themselves. With athlete-centered coaching all the decisions I make, calendar adjustments, and communications will be with your athletic interest at the forefront of my mind. Studying to be a physiotherapist I understand the importance of getting to the finish line injury free. Following the most recent literature, all my training plans (group or personalized) follow a safe reduced risk of injury approach to make sure you get to the start line and finish line healthy.
Education: Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. Currently finishing physiotherapy school and becoming fully certified to practice in Toronto.
Certifications: Level 1 and Level 2 NCCP certified, Training Peaks Level 1 certified, Standard first aid & CPR certified.
Experience: Multisport coach for the last 4 years. I have coached athletes at the sprint distance up to and including the full IRONMAN distance. I have also coached ultra-marathon athletes. Regardless your goals in the sport, if they are a swim, bike or run goal, I am confident we can work together to help you achieve the finish line.
