Dr Matt Miller is a specialist MTB coach working with professional and amateur athletes in Enduro, XC, DH and road. He has over 20 international publications and presentations focused on MTB performance, including pioneering scientific research into FTP & Critical Power in MTB, and the very first MTB braking research (BrakeAce). Matt has 20 years of race experience, including at the elite level in XC and EWS races. He has worked with riders from beginner all the way to the top of the world cup.
My coaching philosophy is based on things that work using a data-led scientific approach. Quality, consistency and fun are the three main things we aim for. Our results show that the ideas work - my mountain bike athletes have won the elite USA Enduro National Championship twice, the elite NZ DH National series, Category 1 XC National Championships, a NUET 100-mile win and have represented multiple countries in the World Championships in DH and XC. While I love working with pros, I am an expert at developing the coach-athlete relationship, and have proven ability to get the most of time-crunched amateurs.
You can learn more about me in this interview view TrainingPeaks' Dirk Friel where we discuss how to be a faster mountain biker: https://www.trainingpeaks.com/coach-blog/how-to-be-a-faster-mountain-biker-with-matt-miller/
I also co-developed and delivered the Introduction to Exercise Science for Endurance Coaches as part of TrainingPeaks University.
