Compete at national level in mountain bike.
I have a love for long endurance events/rides (mountainbike marathons, long gravel events, long endurance rides).. And yet loves short hard criterium races or cross country events.

A good athlete-coach relationsship, is the key for achieving succes. Therefor mutual respect as well as open and honest conversations are a minimum requirement for a succesfull relationsship!
More work are not always the right answer! Train smarter to get better!
Science is important, but science by it self cannot create a champion, new personal bests or accomplish goals. Coaching is not all about understanding the science, it is just as much understanding the athlete and his/hers personality, needs and "drive".
Varying training and periodization keeps motivation high and reduce the chance of stagnation.
