High‑performance all‑distance coach developing athletes from sprint to ultra‑marathon.
Michael R. Lenhoff is a high‑performance all‑distance coach and accomplished athlete with expertise from sprint and middle‑distance to marathon and ultra‑marathon development. Since 2019, he has represented Nedbank Running across Track & Field, Cross‑Country, and multiple road‑running distances, earning four Comrades Marathon medals and several road‑running podium finishes. He has also competed for Athletics Gauteng North in Track & Field, Cross‑Country, and Road Running.
Michael is an ASA Level 1 Sprints, Hurdles & Relays Coach and an ASA Level 2 Middle‑ & Long‑Distance Coach, further qualified through SSISA’s Endurance Running Training Essentials & Programme Design. He has coached multiple Nedbank Running athletes to local and national podiums, including two who earned National Colours and represented South Africa at a World Championships. He has also served as a Team Athletics Gauteng North coach at both the ASA Marathon Championships and the ASA Senior Track & Field Championships.
Beyond athletics, Michael holds an N.Cert in Emergency Care Technology and is an HPCSA‑registered pre‑hospital emergency care technician with 23 years of clinical experience, strengthening his evidence‑based approach to athlete health, safety, and performance. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Athletics Gauteng North Medical & Scientific Committee and is a member of the AGN Coaches Committee.
