Coach Bio

I am passionate about Cycling and I love the development of my athletes. The data and science behind it all intrigues me. I use the latest software (WKO5 and Training Peaks) to drill down into the raw data of each athlete. Combined with the 1on1 relationship I believe that motivation is key in reaching goals that we will set together. I emphasise the word 'together' because I like to develop with my athletes to assist them in obtaining their goals and dreams.

Starting in the BMX racing scene in 1983 at age 4, where I learnt all the basics of grazed knees and missing teeth.

In 1993 I found my love for mountain bikes at school. Winning the SA Championships (1997 – XCO Expert Men) and African Continental Championships (2016 – XCO sub vet) are some of the highlights of my cycling career.

Today I uses this lifelong bank of knowledge combining my passion and love of the bicycle.

I thrive on gaining and sharing knowledge on training methods, bike technology and improving skills. I do 1on1 sessions with my athletes and will attend events with them if my schedule allows.

I specialise in goal based training, helping you reach your goals and personal best as an athlete. We utilize our expertise, knowledge and experience to translate data, numbers and test results into relevant meaningful real-world information that is beneficial to you (the athlete!). We are there for our athletes every step of the way and want to be more than just a coach but a mentor.

Firstly, an assessment and evaluation of your current fitness and experience as a cyclist. We then design a training plan based on your ability, availability, and goals. Your training progress will be assessed and analysed on a continual basis with feedback and we adapt the plan based on your training response.

I work with all skill levels, from novices to professional athletes. Monthly packages are based on interaction and your goal, but once off services are available too.
