I first started participating in endurance sports in middle school and have continued throughout my adult life. While pursuing both cycling and running during my time at Baylor University, I founded the Baylor Triathlon Club and was president for two years after. During that same time I coached and led many workouts for the team, and officially became the Head Coach in 2011.
The founding and leading of a club sport at the university level exposed me to the administrative and marketing aspects of sport. I gained experience with everything from licensure of logos, budgeting, insurance, road closures and race production to recruiting and motivating individuals to not only participate in club activities, but to develop future leaders to ensure the future success of the club. In the two years I was president the club grew from an initial 6 members to over 50 when I stepped down.
Since, I have run a youth swim team for the YMCA and worked as a Triathlon Coach for Carmichael Training Systems overseeing dozens of athletes. The two are radically different and have prepared me to work with a wide range of athletes, both in person, and through long distance communications.
