As the co-founder and co-owner of Real Fitness Strength and Conditioning gym in northeast England, I've got many years of experience training people of all levels of fitness and ability.
Athletes I coach are encouraged to take a holistic view towards their health and training and to incorporate strength work to become more durable, robust and injury free!
Matt Pearce is a writer and strength and conditioning coach from Northumberland in northeast England. A former Royal Marine, he co-founded and co-runs his own gym, Real Fitness Strength and Conditioning, and his main focus is helping endurance athletes implement strength work into their training.
Out of the gym, he's an avid 'fell runner' (that's a northern English term for mountain runner) and ultramarathoner competing at everything from half marathon to 100 miler distance.
Matt is also a published writer, having written for running and fitness magazines and TrainingPeaks on the subjects of sports-specific strength training.
In his own time, he likes to run far in the mountains. If you ever see a lone guy out in the Northumrbian Cheviots running with a pack of dogs, then that'll probably be him.
