Mary Cox   Goumya

Goumya’s philosophy is to get you moving using an approach that will increase your fitness and reach your goals while being there to support training when “life gets in the way”. Whether its running your first half marathon or your 100th triathlon, Coach Mary offers individualized training programs for beginner and intermediate athletes looking to enjoy the training process and feel great!


Mary found a passion for endurance sports as an adult when running became a favorite activity. After multiple age-group wins across different distances and Boston qualification, she moved into triathlon where she placed 3rd woman in her first sprint, and went on to complete multiple IronMan 70.3s. She realized her favorite part of being an athlete is inspiring others around her to get out there and feel great. She is a Certified UESCA Running Coach and Balanced Body Pilates Instructor living in Amman, Jordan, where she created Goumya to inspire more to get on out there and train, support, and inspire each other.
Mentoring athletes on the value of training in a structured and purposeful way is her favorite part of the job. Watching them reap the benefits of training with strong performances as they accomplish their dreams is an incredible reward.
Mary continues to pursue new endeavors, including keeping up with the latest in training science and studying up on the physiology of training for women. She also enjoys learning languages and speaks and trains a bit in Arabic (which is not a language selection in TP).
