As a lifelong athlete growing up in the Netherlands, cycling was genuinely second nature to me. I dabbled in many sports, but cycling always had the overhand. I raced BMX, road, and mountain bike throughout my youth and into my early twenties.
Priorities shifted as I got older. Cycling transitioned into a recreational activity while I studied, got married, started a family, and moved up the ranks working in technology. However, later on I began competing as an “age grouper” in triathlons all over the Netherlands.
I moved to the US in 2014 with my wife and two daughters to build out customer services for the software company I was working for at the time. I spent over a decade in senior leadership functions and developed highly effective teams, and thoroughly enjoyed coaching many individuals throughout their careers.
Based on that corporate experience, and my drive for personal development in nutrition, sports, and endurance training, I started to coach athletes at a small scale.
I chose to spend more time with my family and shift into an individual contributor role as a Program Director in 2017. This also allowed me to expand my coaching practice.
I currently coach about 25 endurance athletes in various disciplines like road cycling, running, triathlon, and mountain biking.
As a certified sports and nutrition coach, LIII USAC Coach, Trainingpeaks L1 coach, I offer:
