Coaching starts with your goals and your desire to improve. I want to aid riders to reach their potential by working with them to create a plan which works around their lifestyle and their requirements. Finding this balance can lead to long term success. I enjoy the challenge of finding innovative ways to further improve a rider’s fitness. Being able to trust each other allows me to deliver the best plan possible while remaining adaptable.
I have spent the majority of my life in and around bike racing. Firstly watching my dad race and then taking up cycling myself, moving onto competing on the road and the track. Having raced since I was a youth, I have gained experience as cycling has taken me around the world racing with a number of UCI professional continental teams and winning British Championship medals. This has led me into coaching, focusing on what I know best which is road, TT and track endurance. Coaching to me is about the trust built between a coach and an athlete. I have worked alongside British Cycling coaches and also coach at my local club. I also value and enjoy coaching the technique and tactical side of bike racing in order to make smarter riders as well as fitter riders.
