I grew up in the northwest United States where I skied, hiked, and mountain biked in the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest. I was a weekend warrior who enjoyed being outside.

In 2013 I competed in the LuluLemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon in Vancouver, British Columbia and for the first time started following a structured training plan. Running lead to triathlon lead to endurance sports of all sorts and balancing training, group exercise, and life.

I began studying coaching while working for a biomechanics startup where I was exposed to strength and conditioning programs at schools across the country. My role was to convey quantitative performance metrics and communicate the value and meaning of kinetic data in a way that was understandable and actionable.

That job lead me to want to develop a greater understanding of the mechanics of movement. I completed my yoga teacher training, got certified as a strength and conditioning coach, and began working at a functional fitness studio where I lead cycling, yoga, and group exercise classes.

These experiences shape the training plans I create. They're intended for everyday athletes who enjoy competing as a piece of a bigger puzzle.
