Coach Bio

I help athletes thrive in the ‘real world’ by giving them the skills to balance training, life & mental wellbeing alongside other commitments and pressures. I coach to help others improve themselves and those around them by improving physical and mental health.

I bring to coaching many years experience as an educator. I believe that coaching should be educational, constructive and actionable in order to achieve the biggest impact and avoid burnout.

I am a ITCA & TrainingPeaks Level 2 qualified Triathlon and Multi-sport coach with eight-years’ experience training, living and racing as a triathlete and runner. Originally from Essex, UK, I has been in Shanghai, China for the past 5 years.

Here the daily challenges of heat, air quality and access to facilities have highlighted the need for a flexible, adaptive approach to training to overcome obstacles in the way of athletic development. I believe that athletic training is a valuable and development part of life that can, when properly balanced, bring about substantial positive changes.

As an ’Adult-Onset Athlete‘, I took sport into my life late as a way to overcome illness and improve my quality of life. I see the value of sport in making myself and my athletes better each day. This is why I coach.
