A veteran triathlete with experience racing at every distance from Sprint, Olympic, 70.3, Ironman, and Ultratriathlon. I apply this knowledge to each athlete interaction to create individualized building blocks with the athlete's goals in mind.
I operate with the mindset that triathlon and multisport should be fun first and a great way to augment and enrich one's life- and not as an additional source of stress or anxiety. Incorporating training into the balance of work, family, life is key!
I got my start in endurance events in the mid-90's by organizing a team of school friends to compete in the Ski-to-Sea -- an eight-leg relay known as "America's Original Adventure Race". My intro to triathlon came in California in 1998 when I completed my first sprint relying on a borrowed mountain bike and the support of friends to cheer me through. From crossing that first finish line, I was hooked.
I am a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a member of the elite Marine Reconnaissance teams, as well as a graduate of Army Ranger School, Airborne School, and Navy SERE School.
I continue to remain "always faithful" to the concept that triathlon embodies both a lifestyle and experience that is empowering, inspiring, and accessible to anyone with the drive and willingness to put forth the effort to succeed. I'm passionate about helping others reach their goals.
I live in Vienna, VA with my triathlete wife, two amazing daughters, and Lola, our St. Bernard.
