Hi! My name is Jonny Woodhouse and I’m the founder of JDW Coaching. I am extremely motivated by enhancing physical performance and I thrive off improving and assisting the performance of others. I have changed my life through the influence of running and hopefully I can improve yours too.
I have now been fortunate to have over eight years of applied experience within professional sport, working alongside elite athletes and coaches on a daily basis. This unique background will support and improve your running performance by blending scientific evidence with practical experience.
My career started when I graduated from University of Bath in 2015, studying Sport and Exercise Science alongside completing a 12-month professional work placement. I began running consistently in 2016 and I now compete in all disciplines, from 5k races to marathons. This year I completed my second marathon (03:19:10) and most recently I completed Bath Half Marathon (01:26:45) in March 2020. This was my 15th half marathon in two years and I’m now excited to complete my third marathon later in the year.
I am a strong advocate of the phrase “strength underpins performance”, and I believe every long-term strategy should incorporate strength training due to the vast physiological benefits that can occur. This can include increasing muscular growth, improving mobility, recovering quicker, improving your mood, promoting healthy sleep patterns and boosting energy levels. My plans will improve running performance by increasing your strength levels and reducing your risk of injury.
