Driven by passion and the commitment to offer expert sports and exercise coaching, Johno Gee has always believed in overcoming the obstacles of life and excelling through consistent hard work, perseverance, and focus. In 2008, he encountered a fatal bicycle accident which was a life-changing experience for him. Johno sustained multiple injuries, but survived the accident and recovered later. It was during the recovery period at the hospital that Johno re-evaluated his life goals and resolved to start living his life differently. He soon took to sports training and improved his performance to become the fastest senior road cyclist in Canterbury in 2010. Johno subsequently raced for two different teams at the Tour of Southland in 2011 and 2012. He has successfully acquired the Postgraduate Certificate in Sports and Exercise Science from Auckland University of Technology and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Secondary), and a Bachelor of Sports Coaching from the University of Canterbury. With over ten years of experience in the field of coaching and teaching, his areas of expertise include effective planning, goal setting, periodization, training with power in both running and cycling, technology, mechanical engineering, and stakeholder relations. His ability to offer a motivational environment for athletes to thrive, learn and grow and his creative, enthusiastic and problem-solving approach has helped him to carve his own path of success.
