Coach Bio

Like many triathletes, I signed up for a sprint triathlon at the urging of a friend. As soon as I crossed the finish line, I wanted to sign up for another one and see how much I could improve. After a decade of racing triathlons (sprint to full distance), ultra runs, bike races, and other events, I still relish the challenge. Now, I enjoy helping other athletes discover what they can accomplish and watching them meet and exceed their own goals. As they say, it's more fun to go far together!

The coach-athlete relationship is a unique one. I enjoy all aspects of coaching - creating engaging training plans, answering questions about training/racing, helping athletes accomplish their goals, and building strong friendships along the way.

Most of my athletes are "regular" people just like I am. We have jobs, spouses, kids, hobbies, and busy lives. We are not training to be professional athletes, but we are training to be the happiest and healthiest versions of ourselves that we can be. Training and racing should fit into your already busy life and schedule. It should give you MORE energy to tackle the other remainder of the day. It should not feel like a burden or stress added to an already full plate.

My coaching philosophy is straightforward. I believe in some core principles:

  • Consistency
  • Using the minimum effective dose
  • Prioritizing sleep/rest
  • Regular (daily) communication
  • Strength training for everyone
  • Finding a daily nutrition plan and fueling strategy that works for you

Whether you are just starting out on your endurance sports journey, or you are looking to finally break through that plateau that has been holding you back, I would love to have a conversation about what 1-on-1 coaching would look like for you.
