My strengths as a coach are in triathlons (sprint to Ironman), running (1/2 marathon and marathon), distance cycling events (100 KM to 200 miles), and the time trial. I am a functional medicine physician, providing total health assessment and education with your coaching. I will help you set realistic goals and provide you the direction to achieve them.
Coaching is $400 for initial assessment, $200 for follow ups as needed. Frequency of follow ups depend on the athlete's needs and goals.
I have been racing in triathlons and marathons since 1986. My background was swimming since age 7, then running and triathlons in high school. I raced in the US Triathlon Series National Championships in 1988 and at the Ironman World Championships (Kona) in 2010. I was ranked All American by USAT in 2008, 2009, and 2010, and HM in 2007, 2012.
I have been a scholar of endurance training for over 25 years. My professional degrees include MD, MS (Environmental Toxicology), and BSN (Nursing). I currently practice as an functional medicine physician, experienced with diagnosing and treating sports related injuries, preventing disease and injury, and teaching positive health behaviors to optimize health.
I am knowledgable and skilled at training endurance athletes from newbies to experienced athletes. I lead clinics for people that have difficulty with running, teaching them techniques that quickly improve their running times and reducing common running discomforts.
