From 2007 to 2019, Jaco was a professional road cyclist, predominantly racing abroad, competing on the UCI World Tour circuit for Team Dimension Data and, before that, Team MTN Qhubeka.

• Jaco was a long-standing teammate with a big engine and a never-say-die attitude while racing at the World Tour level.
• In 2015, Jaco narrowly missed a stage win at the Vuelta a España, being caught 50 meters from the finish line.
• He was the South African Road Champ in 2016, and in the same year, he was denied a stage win of the Giro d’Italia, finishing 4th on the stage.
• And in 2017, Jaco raced his first Tour de France, helping Team Dimension Data secure a stage victory.

Jaco has raced all three Grand Tours and all five Monuments and was crowned the South African Elite men’s road race champion in 2016. Now retired from international cycling, Jaco has turned his attention to MTB and giving back to the sport that has brought him fulfilment throughout his career.
