Coach Bio

I offer one-to-one triathlon coaching for all disciplines, from sprint to long distance, remotely or face-to-face for locally based athletes. I am passionate about helping people with their goals, whether it is to complete their first race or to qualify for their country at age group level.

My facilities allow me to offer swim analysis in an Endless Pool, gait analysis and performance tests to gauge training zones. There is also accommodation locally for athletes planning a short training camp.

I am a British Triathlon Level 3 coach with an MSc Sport (Coaching) who has over 20yrs experience in coaching adults and juniors, initially in outdoor education and for the past 12 years triathlon.

I offer triathlon coaching, and stroke correction and swim analysis in a High Performance Endless Pool at my training facility (videos can be sent remotely).

Communication is key for a successful relationship, and I encourage collaboration with my athletes, some who I work with year on year. Structured individualised training plans, taking into account family and professional commitments are written weekly, alongside a macro plan that outlines the 'big view' leading to the goal race. I am a believer that training should be made fun, however, depending on your goals, there will be certain sessions that will stretch you. Training Peaks metrics are used to assess performance gains and to gauge readiness for each event.

The training plans include strength and mobility workouts, so, not only does the athlete become fitter, but also stronger and more mobile too. This holistic approach is popular with my athletes, who are able to recover quicker.

My lifetime of coaching various sports to different age groups, as well as competing myself has given me key skills to get the best out of my athletes, whose achievements far exceed their expectations, whether it is a first sprint triathlon, 1st Ironman or representing their country as an Age Group athlete.
