My name is Imogen Cotter, I am a competitive cyclist from Ireland and I am currently living in Belgium, racing for a team here. I have been involved in competitive sport for over 10 years now. I graduated from the University of Limerick with a B.Sc in Sports and Exercise Sciences, and have achieved my Level 2 REPS coaching certificate. I have done a large amount of coaching within running, and I am now looking forward to helping athletes within the cycling realm.
As mentioned above, I studied Sports and Exercise Sciences in university. Although I loved the course, to be truthful there were areas I struggled with in the first couple of years, such as Science Maths and Applied Physics. I ended up taking a year out to see what I really wanted to do. It was in this year out that I really realised a passion of mine. I set up my own coaching group, a 'couch to 10K' plan, helping people who were not able to run 100m to run a 10km over the course of 3 months. It was such a rewarding experience for me. It gave me huge motivation going back into my course because I really knew what I wanted to do.
Since graduating in 2016, I have been focused on my sporting career. I started cycling in 2017 and I was part of the national track development squad within the first 6 months. I have now been living in Belgium, honing my fitness and racing skills in arguably one of the best racing scenes in the world. I look forward to sharing the knowledge I have gained with you and helping you to achieve your goals!
