My running career started after I joined the US Army in 1998. Running was a daily work requirement but, after recognizing that I had an aptitude for it, I began competing soon after at shorter races and sprint triathlons. At my debut half marathon in 2003, I achieved a top 10 overall finish and an age group win. Since that time I have competed at every distance from 5K to 100 miles and have competed in several sprint and Olympic-distance triathlons and adventure races.
Before retiring from federal service in 2018, I had the honor of becoming a Master Resilience Trainer for the Army and serving as the Director of Human Performance for Fort Carson, Colorado and The 4th Infantry Division. After retirement I decided to combine my two main passions running and helping others develop their resilience by becoming a professional athlete and endurance coach.
Currently I am focused on completing the 4 Deserts Grand Slam - a series of four 155-mile self supported stage races held around the globe - visit www.racingtheplanet.com
