Hamilton Sport was created by triathlon athlete and physiologist Ross Hamilton to help professionals and amateurs achieve their fitness or sporting goals. We provide professional coaching and quality training support to all individuals of any level. We specialize in custom training plans and one to one support. Whether you are a complete novice looking to get fit or a professional athlete, we will work with you to ensure that your training plan is suitable for your lifestyle and fitness level.
I am an ex-international athlete having competed with the Irish Sailing team in the Finn class dinghy for over 5 years on the ISAF world cup circuit. I also campaigned for both London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. While competing I decided to complete my Master’s degree in Exercise physiology at Trinity College Dublin. Having achieved a distinction for my degree I realised I had a passion for discovering the best methods to promote human performance. I completed my Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA and constantly work to stay current with gold standard training methods. I hold several international qualifications in including the Ironman Certified Coach award. I also worked as the Sport Performance Manager at Trinity College Dublin overseeing the sport scholarship programme for several years.
Recently I have transitioned sports to triathlon where I have since won several age group titles, including a bronze medal at ETU Multi-sport Europeans over middle distance. I have been involved in many sports throughout my life and am fascinated by the numerous approaches to training for different disciplines. I believe in finding the balance between theory and practice to deliver an effective, practical solution. My current research interest areas include recovery methods, training adaptions and their application to real world scenarios.
