I have been mentored for many years by a high performance triathlon coach (a Kiwi now based in the USA) who was previously the Head Coach for Junior High Performance programme at USA Triathlon. Through him I was able to attend the U19 elite high performance camp at the Olympic Training Centre in Colorado Springs. I continue to learn via online mentoring and coach group meetings to help keep my knowledge to a high level. I also mentor other coaches along the way.


I have been coaching since 2005 and have a TRINZ level 2 and Bike NZ level 1 creditation. I coach a good range of athletes from begginer to elite and have had good success at international, national and local.

I have been involved in endurance sport since 1996 competing in mountain biking, multisport, running, and duathlon winning various local, regional and national titles and culminating in a silver medal at the world duathlon champs in Canada in 2006.

My way of giving back to the sport that has given me so much over the years was to become a coach, starting with a skinny 14 year old kid with a couple of Weetbix Tryathlons under his belt who is still with me today but has now raced the triathlon circuit in Germany as well as U19 and U23 Elite in New Zealand

Coaching is my passion and I love helping people achieve their goals, whether that’s racing elite, winning a national title, finishing an ironman, or smashing a PB. I understand that life can get pretty busy and I have a vast amount of technical knowledge, as well as life experience, to be able to structure my coaching to suit individual needs, from competitors to weekend warriors. I am the Director Mc0 Coaching a Wellington based business coaching over 40 athletes of different ages and skill levels who compete in various sports

This unique setup means my athletes have access to group training sessions, swim squads, and strength and conditioning sessions in a fun and supportive environment

Athlete Requirements

I don't require to many things. I can work with HR and power meters, but the best gauge is you and how you feel. If you are prepared to train smart and listen then you are in the right mix with me.
