Gavin is a dedicated coach and athlete. He recently completed his first Ironman 70.3, registered as an Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) and completed his H.B.Sc. in Kinesiology. He combines his expertise in Kinesiology, experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach, and Exercise Physiology to enhance athletic performance. His ability to conduct and analyze lab tests such as VO2 max testing and Lactate testing as well as a deeper understanding metabolic pathways
Gavin is a seasoned coach and exercise therapist who recently completed his first Ironman 70.3 after six months of self-training. Gavin holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Promotion and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist under the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CEP).
His coaching journey began with a passion for running and cycling. He taught himself to swim with guidance from Sophie Hotchkiss (@Endura Performance). An avid runner since childhood, he participated in cross-country and track and field events and spent time outside of school racing in cyclo-cross mountain biking, further fueling his love for endurance sports.
As a kinesiologist and exercise physiologist, he optimizes clients' performance, health, and longevity through personalized training programs. His coaching philosophy emphasizes mental and physical well-being, believing one must care for themselves to effectively care for others, a principle evident in his work as an exercise therapist for seniors.
Notably, Gavin ran his first Half Ironman in 4 hours, 51 minutes, and 31 seconds, showcasing his expertise in sports-sciences and coaching. He trains athletes of all levels, prioritizing personalized plans over cookie-cutter workouts. Gavin is passionate about helping clients reach new heights and discover their potential while fostering a deeper understanding of their bodies and well-being.
