I am a relatively new coach to the sport and going on my 6th racing season. After a few busy seasons, I realized that I enjoyed helping others while even training for my own races. Now I focus on beginner triathletes that want to race short and long course triathlons mainly.
I began my triathlon career in 2012 after seeing my brother trained for and finish his first 70.3. I have a background in swimming and enjoyed riding bicycles (mainly MTB), but never competitively. Running was non-existent as a kid, as I suffered from asthma and couldn’t run without a rescue inhaler, so I simply didn’t run. After much research, I met IronTex and Mike Blankenship, and with my wife, Adriana, discovered that being active was actually a lot of fun. The social aspect of triathlon was what kept us coming back to practice each week and also discovering what their minds and bodies were capable of achieving. I also enjoyed the fact that I could share the sport with my wife, we use it as our "us time.” Swimming, biking or running are, more often than not, date nights.
