Deeper roots grow taller trees. There is a foundation to all human performance, and the stronger that foundation is the higher you can build your success. As harsh as it may sound, I first look at each athlete and strengthen the flaws in their foundation - From muscle imbalances, to gate mechanics, to programming, to mindset. My job is to continually make you a better runner with less injuries. My bottom line is to find the intersection where increased performance meets long term health.
Eric is a dual certified UESCA and RRCA: Running Coach. Before shifting his focus to coaching runners, Eric has been Certified as a personal trainer/coach in Strength Training (CST), Yoga, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Tactical Fitness and Precision Nutrition.
Even though running became his focus later in his career as a fitness professional, Eric feels endurance sports like running are the ultimate proving ground for the science of life long fitness. He says this about it... "With running you are presented with a very unique challenge to your human machine. The challenge is both a mindset and physical strategy to be pursued over years and years, and that is this: How does one make millions of stressful-impacted steps while trying to increase performance and simultaneously fight off physical deterioration? Living this challenge is why I fell in love with running and coaching others. It requires a unique balance of intelligence, assertiveness and patience. I think Life itself is an endurance sport, and the true finish line is death."
Eric is also the author of Live Better Die Slower: The Key to Making Health and Fitness Finally Stick. He is the proud father of two children Mason and Maya, and has been happily married to his "first health coach" Denise, since 2000.
