enthDegree Cycling is a one-man consultancy providing advice on anything and everything cycling related. My main ambition is to encourage and enable all cyclists to meet their potential and experience the enjoyment of simply riding their bikes. My credentials include coaching clients to achieving their personal goals and objectives to voluntarily teaching primary school kids via Bikeability and club coaching.
My core value is…your cycling is my passion!
My name is Jon Entwistle. I'm just another guy on the planet who's passionate about cycling.
As a youngster I was always on a bike, whether it be BMXing on my paper round or long road trips into the National Parks on my Raleigh pride and joy. My first love was football but a horrendous tackle sent me packing to A&E. It would take another two years before doctors realised I was missing an anterior cruciate ligament. Perhaps it was the constant mountain biking that kept my muscles strong and knee stable?
I gave up football in my mid 30s to concentrate on running, setting time targets for 10k races and completing a marathon. A few year's ago I needed another operation. The surgeon advised me to reduce my running. I decided to quit running entirely and take up road cycling instead.
That was a life-changing epiphany. I'd forgotten how much I love just riding any bike. I decided there and then to dedicate the rest of my life to cycling so I could make proper use of my Master's degree in Meteorology and Physics PhD in fluid dynamics. I quit my job and jumped straight into setting up a one-man cycling consultancy, coaching myself with the aid of power meters.
